My Story

In the quiet moments of the night, as I cradled my newborn in my arms, I found myself enveloped in a whirlwind of emotions. The journey into motherhood, which I had anticipated with excitement and anticipation, had become a maze of challenges and uncertainties. As a first-time mom in 2021, navigating the uncharted waters of parenthood seemed like an insurmountable task, especially with my husband's demanding military schedule and our distance from family and friends.

The early days were a blur of exhaustion, anxiety, and relentless questioning. My baby, bless his heart, seemed to come with a myriad of issues – feeding difficulties, oral ties, food allergies – each presenting its own unique hurdle to overcome. And while I struggled to find my footing amidst the chaos, postpartum depression and anxiety clouded my every thought, casting a shadow over what should have been a time of boundless joy.

I felt adrift in a sea of isolation, yearning for guidance and support that seemed perpetually out of reach. With each passing day, the weight of motherhood bore down on me, threatening to engulf me entirely. But amidst the darkness, a flicker of hope emerged.

When I welcomed my second child into the world, I was determined to approach motherhood with a newfound sense of purpose and preparedness. Armed with the lessons learned from my first experience, I took proactive steps to ensure that this time would be different. I meal prepped, I educated myself on postpartum care, and most importantly, I sought out the resources and support that had been sorely lacking the first time around.

Having a lactation counselor by my side and attending support groups with other local moms transformed my second postpartum experience in ways I never thought possible. Despite the inevitable challenges – postpartum anxiety, thrush, colic – I found myself navigating them with a newfound sense of confidence and resilience. Motherhood, once a daunting labyrinth of uncertainty, began to feel like a journey filled with moments of joy and connection.

It was this transformative shift that ignited a passion within me – a burning desire to ensure that no mother should ever have to endure the isolation and struggle that had defined my early days of parenthood. And so, with a sense of purpose and determination, I embarked on a new journey – one of serving and supporting other mothers through their own transition into motherhood.

Drawing upon my own experiences and armed with professional training, I founded my own business as a postpartum doula and lactation counselor. My mission is clear: to provide new mothers with the resources, guidance, and support they need to navigate the challenges of early motherhood with confidence and grace. Through my business, I aim to be the beacon of light that I had once longed for – offering a lifeline to mothers who may be feeling lost or overwhelmed, and empowering them to embrace the journey of motherhood with strength and resilience.

For me, this business is more than just a profession – it's a calling born out of the depths of my own struggles and triumphs. It's a testament to the transformative power of support and community in the journey of motherhood, and a reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is always hope shining bright on the horizon.
